AUSTIN, TX — January 5, 2025 — Texas residents now have greater access to court-approved drug education thanks to the growing availability of live, online programs. State-approved providers are making it easier for individuals in both urban and rural areas to fulfill legal requirements without the burden of travel.
The 15-hour Drug Offender Education Program is designed for individuals convicted of misdemeanor or felony drug offenses and is mandated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for license reinstatement or court compliance. By moving to an online format, certified providers are helping participants attend classes from home via secure Zoom sessions, offering flexibility that meets both legal and personal needs.
Alamo Center, a TDLR-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has been at the forefront of this transition. With over 30 years of experience, the organization delivers interactive instruction statewide, covering topics such as the legal consequences of drug use, the impact on health and relationships, and strategies for avoiding future offenses. Classes are recognized by Texas courts, the Department of Public Safety (DPS), and probation offices, ensuring that participants receive valid certificates accepted across the state.
“Expanding our Drug Offender Education Program online has removed significant barriers,” said John Mejia, Executive Director of Alamo Center. “Participants can now complete their obligations without taking time off work or arranging costly transportation, all while receiving the same high-quality instruction.”
Alamo Center’s online format includes small group sessions led by certified instructors, digital course materials, and flexible scheduling options. Registration is straightforward, with all class details, requirements, and payment options available on their official website.
