NAAAP has announced Tony Award-winning Broadway producer and social media strategist Jay Kuo as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Leadership Convention (LC25), Aug. 14-16 at the Loews Kansas City Hotel.

Kuo, best known for blending Broadway creativity with digital influence and political commentary, will present “Creating Spaces for ANHPI Stories,” a keynote on identity, heritage, and the intersection of culture and social impact.

“This year’s theme, ‘Spaces” challenges us to create environments where authenticity, belonging and purpose thrive,” said Vin Pineda, interim executive director of NAAAP. “Jay Kuo embodies that mission. He has redefined what it means to lead, inspire and tell stories that move communities forward.”

Kansas City previously hosted the highly successful 2019 NAAAP Leadership Convention, and LC25 is expected to expand on that success. The Loews Kansas City Hotel, located steps from the Power & Light District, will serve as the venue for keynote presentations, workshops, networking opportunities and cultural events designed to challenge the status quo and foster diversity, equity and inclusion.

“We are thrilled to be back in Kansas City. Its vibrant culture, renowned hospitality and accessible location make it the perfect backdrop for this transformative event,” said Hao Quach, president of NAAAP-KC. “The city’s rich history of innovation aligns seamlessly with NAAAP’s mission to create spaces where all professionals, regardless of background, can lead with purpose.”

In addition to Kuo’s keynote, LC25 will feature an expanded program lineup, including free career development opportunities and new leadership tracks.

Career Fair Open to All Attendees
A free Career Fair on Aug. 15 will connect job seekers with top companies, innovative startups, mission-driven nonprofits and government agencies seeking emerging and experienced talent. The fair will feature one-on-one time with recruiters, résumé reviews, LinkedIn profile consultations and networking with fellow professionals and alumni.
