A former MBA student of IIM Bodh Gaya has sought an independent inquiry into alleged academic irregularities, derogatory conduct and the circumstances surrounding his withdrawal from the programme shortly before completion.

The student alleges that his grade in a course was changed from “B” to “C” and has sought the relevant audit trail and modification records. An RTI response reportedly stated that the requested audit logs were “NOT AVAILABLE.”

The student has specifically raised allegations concerning Professor Charu Naithani, including alleged arbitrary assessment practices during the academic dispute. He has sought an independent examination of the relevant assessment records.

He has separately alleged that another senior institute official made derogatory and humiliating remarks concerning his CAT examination, academic standing and mental state during administrative proceedings. The student has included these concerns in his representations and is seeking an independent inquiry into the alleged conduct.

The student further states that on February 9, 2026, he waited outside the Director’s office for approximately five hours seeking to meet the Director regarding his grievances, but was unable to meet her. Despite repeated representations to institutional authorities, he states that his concerns remained unresolved.

The dispute resulted in his inability to complete the programme with his batch and missing the 2026 convocation, with further concerns regarding placement and education-loan obligations.
