Building Evidence-Based Education Through Neuroscience.

Posted May 5, 2026 by andrewmandela

Receiving the Troland Research Award highlights the role of neuroscience in building evidence-based education systems and improving literacy outcomes.

The development of evidence-based education requires a strong foundation in scientific research. My work has focused on providing that foundation by examining how the brain supports learning.

By integrating findings from neuroscience into educational practice, we can move beyond intuition and tradition toward approaches that are grounded in evidence.

This includes developing tools for assessment, intervention, and instruction that are informed by an understanding of brain function.

The Troland Research Award recognizes the importance of this approach and its potential to transform education on a global scale.
