As Group CEO, she helped create and implement human capital processes and practices at Ava Care Health Group Global and also consolidated human capital operations across 12 markets. There are 18 subsidiaries across 12 African countries, the UAE, India and Kazakhstan. This was a wide perspective in terms of aligning human capital dynamics.

She has also worked in the areas of organisational development, talent management, succession planning and engagement at BDO. Parallel to her corporate job, Deepa also added to her entrepreneurial experience by starting Bakeology Studio in 2019 that commenced operations in 2020, covering practical skills education and branching out to diverse concepts and up to four retail stores.

She believes these experiences influence her working philosophy of "growing the right people, getting the right structure in the business, taking the right decisions, and reacting appropriately to market change".

In 2026 she was awarded Peace Ambassador 2026 and an Honorary Doctorate from Kennedy University in Specialisations, Organisational Psychology; Strategic Management & Leadership.
