Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo Examines the Role of Shared Services in Organisational Efficiency.

The rise of between countries, subsidiaries and departments demands standardised operation processes for the sake of organisations as they grew. Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo (Sunaina) contributes to this business problem with her expertise in shared services and human capital operations as well as organisational transformation.

As Founder & Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory she advises on organisational design, workforce transformation and business performance. Her experience demonstrates the need for design of operating arrangements that enables coordination without losing the organisation's perspective.

Deepa was the Executive Director, Human Resources and Human Capital at Ava Care Health Group Global. She led in the reform and centralisation of human capital operational functions across 18 subsidiaries spanning 12 African countries, the UAE, India and Kazakhstan.

Her roles involved areas such as payroll, governance, finance integration, IT implementation and shared services. Such functions are functionally intensive and need well defined process, accountabilities and synergy from central teams and the various business units.

Shared services may enable organisations to standardise particular activities, achieve visibility and reduce duplication. However, they are successful only when supported by appropriate systems, a clear definition of services and an understanding of what the teams supported will need.

Deepa brings together her operational experience with an MSc in Organisational Psychology from the University of London and further development in managerial finance and organisation design through her work at BDO where she specialised in Organisational Development, Talent Management and Performance Management.

She was awarded the Kennedy University Peace Ambassadorship in 2026 and an honorary doctorate in Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership.
