A career in politics, government and international service can be rich in achievements and insights that endure long after career moments end. South African statesman and politician Lassy LL Chiwayo is now offering a new publishing pathway through which he can capture and share lessons learnt from a long life spent in the public eye.

Lassy LL Chiwayo was an active participant in the anti-apartheid movement and was imprisoned on Robben Island from 1985 to 1990. His work in public administration later began as part of South Africa's transition to democracy.

In the post-Mandela era, Lassy LL Chiwayo began working in public organizations within the Mpumalanga province, assuming legislature and executive roles, representing the province in the national Senate, and ultimately completing the Finance portfolio before assuming the role of Chief Whip of the Mpumalanga legislature.

He also experienced local authority governance as the Executive Mayor of Mbombela Local Municipality, an appointment he held for three years (2008-2011). He was the mayor of the Mbombela Local Municipality during the lead-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, South Africa's largest multi-sports event ever held on the continent. The local government Facebook page of the Mbombela Local Municipality, where he was once mayor, lists the town's preparations for the World Cup in 2009. The SA government's local government page refers to the Mbombela Local Municipality, also known as the Capital of the Lowveld, and states that the municipality 'has been preparing for the FIFA World Cup'.

He then served as a South African diplomat, becoming an international public figure as well. His expertise thus spans politics, provincial governance, municipal management and international diplomacy.
