Uttar Pradesh is modernizing its power reforms with smart meters to enhance level of transparency and convenience for consumers. Placed more than 62 lakh installations, process works to modernize infrastructure and improve energy monitoring.

Polaris Grids is enabling India with its 250M smart meter mission - reducing energy loss, facilitating real-time grid, and supporting the 500GW clean energy target in India by 2027.

Uttar Pradesh is in the process of modernising its power sector by use of smart meters that enhance transparency, real time monitoring and accuracy in billing. The state has more than 62 lakh installations.

With a target of 250 million meters by 2027, Polaris Grids is contributing through digital solutions that reduce losses, enable real-time monitoring, and strengthen India’s future-ready energy grid.

The energy sector of India is also demanding taxation reforms, GST, incentives on smart meters, and gas infrastructure to encourage domestic energy production and energy security ahead of Budget 2026.

Uttar Pradesh is slowly transforming its power distribution network by installing a large number of smart meters in an attempt to enhance transparency, accuracy in billing and convenience to the consumer.

The energy industry in India is also calling upon reforms in the tax and the policy in the budget 2026- 27 to promote the domestic production, the use of smart meters, and the use of natural gas.
