For the Pink Frosting
• 2 cups whipping cream or buttercream base
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Method
Prepare the Batter
• Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line two 8 inch cake tins.
• In a bowl, sift flour, baking powder and baking soda.
• In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
• Add eggs one by one, then vanilla essence.
• Add the dry ingredients alternately with milk and mix gently.
Add Colours
• Divide the batter into separate bowls depending on how many colours you want.
• Add different food colours to each bowl and mix well.
• Pour coloured batters into the cake tins in layers or in random spoonfuls to create a marble or rainbow effect.
Bake
• Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
• Let cakes cool completely.
Frosting Preparation
• Beat whipping cream or buttercream with powdered sugar and vanilla essence until smooth and fluffy.
• Add pink food colour slowly until you get a soft baby pink shade.
Assembling the Cake
• Level the cake layers.
• Place one layer on a cake stand, spread pink frosting evenly, then place the second layer on top.
• Cover the entire cake with pink frosting using a spatula.
• Decorate with sprinkles, sugar pearls or coloured candles.
