Method
• Preheat the oven to 180°C.
• Grease and line an 8 inch heart or round cake tin.
• In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.
• In another bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, oil, milk and vanilla essence until smooth.
• Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix gently.
• Pour in the hot water or coffee and stir till the batter is smooth.
• Transfer to the tin and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

Frosting

• Add icing sugar in parts and beat well.
