J.L. Calder’s DoubleHelix: Book One in The Helix Project is a fast-paced, high-stakes espionage thriller that is your next must-read. The novel follows Mike Green, a young writer battling his own demons, as he uncovers a web of international crime syndicates, secret agents, and political scandals that could shake the world.
Set against the chaotic backdrop of post-Cold War Europe and Washington, D.C., the book blends real historical events like the fall of the Soviet Union with heart-pounding action that feels straight out of a spy movie. From sneaking into government archives at night to dodging mafia enforcers in Ukraine, Mike's adventure pulls you into a gritty world where trust is rare and betrayal is everywhere.
Readers will love how Calder weaves in moral dilemmas. If you enjoy stories about undercover ops, corrupt power players, and non-stop suspense, this debut will hook you from the first chapter.
"DoubleHelix is really about being pulled into a dangerous game with no clean exits," says author J.L. Calder. "I wanted to write a thriller that feels raw and intense, drawing from traditional spy fiction, but with characters who make all the wrong decisions for the right reasons."
DoubleHelix is now available in print and digital formats.
