San Leandro, CA - Beats 4 Hope, a Bay Area-based nonprofit organization, is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Jackets & Jams Coat Drive on September 20 from 1 pm to 5 pm at Drake's Barrel House (1933 Davis St #177, San Leandro, CA 94577). This family-friendly event is a unique blend of a coat drive and a community celebration, aiming to collect 1000 clean, gently worn, or new coats for those in need.
As winter approaches, the need for warm clothing has become more pressing than ever, with 1 in 4 people living at or near the poverty line. The collected coats will be distributed to local non-profits, including Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro, East Oakland Collective, Abode, Love Thy Women Foundation, Hearts For Humanity, and Larkin Street Youth Services, to ensure that vulnerable populations stay warm during the cold winter months.
"We're excited to bring back this meaningful initiative," said Alex Mejia, Co-Founder of Beats 4 Hope. "Our neighbors need our help this winter, and we're committed to making a difference in the Bay Area."
The Jackets & Jams Coat Drive is more than just a coat collection event; it's a day-long celebration with dancing, craft beers, tasty food, games, and DJ sets. The event will also feature a meet-and-greet with The Alameda County Firefighters Association Local 55, show cars by East Bay Car Club, and will be hosted by Chuy Gomez.
"We identify and select nonprofits in need of assistance and provide them with resources and support," added Alex Mejia. "This event is a testament to our commitment to giving back to the community."
The event is free and open to the public, making it an ideal outing for families and friends. By attending and donating a coat, participants will be contributing to a worthy cause and enjoying a fun-filled afternoon.
