Softaken Launches Browser-Based Base64 Encoder/Decoder That Never Touches a Server

The latest addition to the Softaken Online Toolkit processes data entirely on-device — a quiet but significant shift in how utility tools handle user privacy

Softaken Software has announced a free Base64 Encode/Decode tool as part of its growing Softaken Online Document Toolkit and is now available at softaken.com/online. This tool is for developers, system administrators and technical users. It encodes and decodes Base64 instantly, without sending a single character to an external server.

The release fills a hole that many in the developer community have been silently tolerating: most Base64 tools online process the input on the server, which is an unnecessary risk when you are dealing with tokens, credentials or encoded private data. This is a browser-based tool that uses client-side JavaScript so your data will never leave your device.

“A better privacy tool is one that has nothing to send,” said a spokesperson of Softaken Software. “That's the bar we've set for each tool in this toolkit.

Key Facts:
• Encodes and decodes Base64 strings instantly in browser
• No file upload – all processing is done locally on the user’s device
• No account, subscription or sign-up required to use for free
• Compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari on desktop and mobile devices
• Functions offline once the page has been loaded for the first time.
