Brisbane, QLD — Brooke’s Blooms, a leader in bespoke residential and commercial landscaping, has unveiled the completion of its latest landscape construction project along King Arthur Terrace—an exceptional riverfront transformation that pushed technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving to new heights.
Located directly on the Brisbane River, the site presented extraordinary challenges. With no road access and a steep, unstable slope, every material, tool, and machine—including an 8-tonne excavator—had to be transported by barge. Despite these complexities, the Brooke’s Blooms team delivered a landscape that is architecturally refined, structurally resilient, and designed to enhance modern family living.
Engineering Strength Meets Bespoke Design
The project began with the replacement of the old timber deck, upgraded to premium composite decking for long-lasting durability and a clean, sophisticated finish. Beneath the surface, over 30 deep screw piles were installed—some reaching 20 metres—to secure the revetment wall and foundations, ensuring long-term stability in a flood-affected zone. The floating pontoon walkway was also expertly re-levelled, requiring careful timing around tides and limited access.
What was once a steep, unusable slope has been reshaped into a series of functional outdoor zones. Wide staircases, tiered garden beds, and sweeping river views now guide movement from the home down to the spa, pool, open lawn, and waterfront. Curved Corten steel edging adds sculptural definition while reinforcing the slope, softened elegantly by lush subtropical planting.
Designed for Family Living and Riverfront Entertaining
The homeowners wanted a landscape that balanced everyday practicality with the ambience of a riverside retreat. Brooke’s Blooms delivered raised vegetable beds, play areas, and late-stage inclusions such as a trampoline and jungle gym, all integrated seamlessly into the master plan.
Material selections were chosen with intention and longevity in mind. Millboard limed oak decking brings the warmth of natural timber without the maintenance burden, while travertine tiles introduce a sense of luxury around key gathering spaces. Frameless glass pool fencing ensures safety without compromising panoramic water views. The curved Corten planters double as retaining structures, blending strength and sculptural elegance.
A Reinvented Riverbank
Once inaccessible and scarred by past flooding, the transformed King Arthur Terrace site is now a fully realised outdoor experience—structurally sound, visually refined, and deeply connected to its riverfront setting. Every detail reflects Brooke’s Blooms’ commitment to craftsmanship, design integrity, and bespoke landscaping solutions.
“This project represents the perfect intersection of creativity, engineering, and landscape architecture,” said a spokesperson for Brooke’s Blooms. “The logistical challenges pushed our team to deliver innovative solutions while still maintaining the elegance and functionality our clients expect.”
