Class XII students of Ryan International School, Mayur Vihar, swapped classrooms for corridors of care during a recent internship visit to Dharamshila Narayana Hospital, gaining first-hand experience of the healthcare sector.

The day-long programme took students through a comprehensive tour of the hospital’s critical and diagnostic units — from the OPD, sample collection room, TMT and echo room, to the mammography room, physiotherapy centre, laboratories, operation theatre, haematology, clinical pathology, and coagulation unit.

Doctors and technical staff not only explained procedures but also demonstrated the use of specialised medical equipment. The highlight was an interaction with a doctor, who shared career guidance, personal experiences, and life lessons aimed at inspiring future medical professionals.

Students observed real-world hospital functioning, from patient diagnostics to behind-the-scenes laboratory work. Machine demonstrations and hands-on exposure gave them a practical understanding of processes often only read about in textbooks.

According to school officials, the visit aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, offering clarity for those aspiring to join the medical field and helping them develop a deeper, passion-driven outlook towards healthcare.

The initiative was coordinated by Dr. Garima Rawat, an alumna of Ryan International School (batch of 2007), with support from Ms. Kanika Pant, OPD Manager and Mr. Divyanshu, Security Incharge.
