Springs of Grace Lutheran Church Celebrates 25 Years of Faith and Community in Inman
INMAN, S.C. (Spartanburg County) — Springs of Grace Lutheran Church will
celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., during
its Lenten worship service at 320 Holden Drive in Inman.
Organized in March 2001, Springs of Grace is a congregation of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). What began in 1999 with door knocking and
neighborhood gatherings has grown into one of the Lutheran congregations serving
Inman and the surrounding Spartanburg County community.
A defining milestone came on March 19, 2016, when the congregation celebrated the
groundbreaking for its permanent home on Holden Drive. By November 2016,
members officially moved into the new worship space, expanding opportunities for
ministry, fellowship, and community outreach.
Throughout its 25-year history, Springs of Grace has remained grounded in its mission:
“Inviting all to gather and grow in service to Christ.”
Many members of the congregation have been part of the church since its earliest days,
providing continuity, leadership, and a strong sense of family that has shaped the
church’s identity and growth.
Community engagement continues to be a hallmark of the congregation. The church
supports several local organizations, including the Upstate Family Resource Center,
Project R.E.S.T., and South Carolina Hunters for the Hungry. During hurricane
recovery efforts, members mobilized to assist the Greer Soup Kitchen, partner with
other churches, and support additional relief organizations serving those in need.
In addition, the church hosts an annual Blessing of the Animals each October, along
with community yard sales, Taco Tuesday gatherings, and seasonal fish fry
events, welcoming neighbors and families as a visible expression of faith and
fellowship.
Pastor Rev. Hobby Outten reflected on the anniversary, saying:
“The growth of the church and its dedication to the community has been outstanding.
For 25 years, we have seen how God has guided us through every season. We warmly
invite anyone seeking a Lutheran church home — or simply looking for connection — to
join us.”
Springs of Grace holds Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday worship at 10:30
a.m., in addition to Wednesday Lenten services at 6:00 p.m.
Holy Week Services
• Palm Sunday – March 29 at 10:30 a.m.
• Maundy Thursday – April 2 at 6:00 p.m.
• Good Friday – April 3 at 6:00 p.m.
• Easter Sunday – April 5 at 10:30 a.m.
