The Mumbai studio delivers coastal interiors remotely, presenting three design concepts per room before a nail is struck on site.
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, 4 September 2026: Chie Design delivers interior projects in Goa for owners based elsewhere, running the work remotely from its Mumbai studio through a documented process built for clients who cannot attend site. Goa is one of five locations the practice works across, alongside Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Qatar.
The studio says remote delivery is not a concession but a standard route it has used for clients across India and internationally. The initial consultation is held at site or by video conference according to the client's preference, and every subsequent stage is designed to be approved without a site visit.
"A second home is bought by somebody who lives somewhere else, which is the entire point of it," said Mithila S., Founder and Principal, Chie Design. "If the process needs you standing in the room to approve a tile, you will spend a year flying down at weekends. Build the process so that the drawings and the renders carry the decision instead, and the owner sees the house properly on handover day."
Concept presentation runs to three different design concepts for every room or space, with further concepts offered at no additional charge if a client settles on none of them. Material selection is handled by the design team, which shortlists tiles, fabrics, veneers, laminates and paint shades and assembles a mood board for approval, with vendor visits arranged where a client wants to attend.
The process closes with 3D visualisations of each space, which the studio positions as the point at which an owner understands the final result before construction begins. A detailed estimate follows approval of those views where the client takes the studio's turnkey contracting service.
Execution covers BOQs and tender documentation, contractor and vendor appointment, quality control through GFC packages, site reviews and handover.
