Located in the Geumsan Industrial District of Waegwan, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, HUNG SHIN FOODS operates on a land area of 3,030㎡ with a building space of 819.1㎡. Since completing its factory in June 2000, the company has produced premium somyeon (thin wheat noodles), initially exporting its entire output exclusively to Japan.

As domestic demand for high-quality noodles grew, HUNG SHIN FOODS expanded its market in 2004, making its products available to Korean consumers. Since then, the company has steadily enhanced its reputation for quality and innovation.

To further strengthen its research capabilities, the company established an industry–academia cooperation agreement with the Department of Oriental Food & Culinary Nutrition at Daegu Haany University. Through this partnership, HUNG SHIN FOODS has actively participated as a consortium member in joint R&D projects, focusing on developing functional and value-added food products.

The company’s first major achievement in this initiative was the development and patent registration of Green Tea Somyeon, produced using native green tea from Hwagae in the Jirisan region. This product introduced consumers to a distinctive noodle flavor and quality previously unseen in the market.

Its second milestone was the creation of Black Rice Functional Noodles, also patented for their unique formulation. By implementing ISO 9001:2008 quality management standards on-site, HUNG SHIN FOODS has ensured rigorous quality assurance throughout its production process.

In addition, the company’s products are recognized as specialty goods of Chilgok-gun and are sold through Korea Post Shopping, operated by the Korea Post Business Promotion Agency, further broadening consumer accessibility nationwide.
