Located in Geumsan District of Waegwan Industrial Complex in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongbuk, the company operates on a 3,030㎡ site with an 819.1㎡ production facility. Since completing its factory in June 2000, the company began producing thin wheat noodles (somyeon) and initially exported all of its products to Japan, building a strong foundation in the overseas market. In 2004, responding to the growing domestic demand for premium noodles, the company expanded its sales to the Korean market as well.
To strengthen its technological capabilities, the company formed an industry–academia partnership with Daegu Haany University’s Department of Korean Traditional Food & Nutrition. Through this collaboration, it has actively participated in R&D consortium projects focused on developing functional food products.
Its first major achievement was the development and patent registration of Green Tea Somyeon, produced using wild green tea from Hwagae in Jirisan, offering consumers a unique and refined flavor. Following this success, the company registered a second patent for Black Rice Noodles, designed as a functional food product with enhanced nutritional value. In addition, the production system received ISO 9001:2008 quality certification, ensuring consistent and reliable quality control throughout the manufacturing process.
These innovations have helped the company expand its reach, with its specialty noodle products now sold through Korea Post’s “Post Office Shopping” platform as a designated specialty product of Chilgok-gun.
The company stated that it will continue researching and developing new varieties of somyeon to meet evolving consumer preferences and strengthen its position in both domestic and global markets.
