McALLEN, Texas, October 9, 2026 - Closer to the Father, a new YouTube channel dedicated to guided Christian prayer and daily devotionals, has launched from McAllen, Texas. The channel is now live at youtube.com/@ClosertotheFather, with new guided prayers released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and a companion website at closertothefather.com.

Closer to the Father was built for people who want to pray but do not know where to start. Many adults have stepped away from church, feel distant from God, or find themselves searching online at 2 a.m. for help with fear, stress, grief, or a decision they cannot make alone. Each video is a short, spoken prayer the viewer can pray along with, no preparation and no perfect words required.

The channel covers the moments where people most often reach for God: morning prayers to start the day, night prayers for sleep and peace, and prayers for anxiety, strength, healing, marriage, family, work, and provision. A pinned video walks first-time viewers through how to pray if they never have. Alongside the prayers, the channel is adding short Bible teaching videos on the love of the Father and on grace and forgiveness.

“I did not start this channel for people who already have it figured out,” said Michael Wilson, founder of Closer to the Father. “I started it for the person lying awake with a mind that will not shut off, or sitting in a truck before work wondering if God still hears them. You do not need the right words. You just need to press play and pray along. He is already near.”

The companion website extends the channel into a community. At closertothefather.com/prayer-wall, visitors can submit a prayer request, pray for the requests of others, and share answered prayers. The site also offers a free seven-day prayer guide for anyone who wants a simple place to begin.
