Leafr, the UK’s leading sustainability consultancy network, is shaking up how corporate sustainability gets done. What began as a cheeky LinkedIn post from co-founder Gus Bartholomew about “(surf)board meetings” has now become a sold-out, first-of-its-kind event at The Wave, Bristol. Tickets sold out within 24 hours, prompting Leafr to expand capacity to meet overwhelming demand.
The event invites CEOs, CSOs, and sustainability professionals to swap boardrooms for surfboards, combining wave-riding with candid conversations about the barriers slowing corporate climate action. The focus: turn sustainability plans into fast-moving, measurable action.
“When we started holding our Leafr board meetings at The Wave, the conversations were sharper and more open than ever before. We wanted others to experience this, and the response from our community was incredible,” says Gus Bartholomew. “At a time when corporate sustainability targets are under pressure, it is clear that taking a fresh perspective and facilitating frank, open dialogue has never been more important.”
Senior sustainability speakers from AA, Sage, La Salle, OLIO, and BT Openreach will share insights on breaking down silos, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering measurable sustainability outcomes.
Attendees will also have exclusive insight into Leafr’s 2025 True State of Sustainability Report, providing a clear view of the key challenges and opportunities facing sustainability leaders today.
“Sustainability can be a bit of a bubble” says Nick Valenzia, co-founder. “Surfing helps people to step outside it. Once you’re out of the office, it’s always impressive how people share more, and conversations flow more openly.”
