Burttschell Construction Promised Quality—What I Got Was Defects, Delays, and Excuses

Despite promises of top-tier work, my experience with Burttschell Construction was filled with poor craftsmanship, missed deadlines, and endless excuses. Here's what went wrong.

A once-hopeful homeowner is speaking out against Burttschell Construction after experiencing what they describe as a “disastrous and deeply unprofessional experience” with the company. The client claims that despite the company's polished website and promises of craftsmanship and timely delivery, the actual work was plagued by poor construction, severe delays, and complete disregard for client communication.
“I chose Burttschell Construction because they claimed to offer quality builds and a turnkey process,” the frustrated homeowner stated. “Instead, I was met with incomplete work, cracked foundation issues, poor framing, and constant excuses for missed deadlines.”

According to the homeowner, the problems began shortly after signing the contract. Despite promises of transparency and hands-on project management, communication became almost nonexistent once construction began. Deadlines came and went with no explanation, and the few updates provided were vague or misleading.

“Every time I asked for a status update, I was either ignored or fed excuses,” they explained. “At one point, work on my property was left untouched for over three weeks without a single response from their team.”
In addition to delays, the homeowner points to clear signs of poor construction quality. From improperly installed doors to visibly uneven flooring, the build showed signs of rushed labor and a lack of oversight. Even after repeated attempts to bring these issues to Burttschell Construction’s attention, the response was apathetic at best.

“When I raised concerns about the defects, they acted like I was being unreasonable,” the client added. “Instead of fixing the issues, they brushed them off and moved on to the next phase.”
The situation worsened when the client refused to approve final payment until the agreed-upon corrections were made. In response, Burttschell Construction allegedly threatened legal action and filed a lien on the property—a move the homeowner calls “aggressive and retaliatory.”

“I never imagined that trying to hold them accountable would result in legal threats,” the homeowner said. “I paid thousands upfront in good faith, and instead of accountability, I was bullied.”
The experience has left the client warning others to think twice before trusting Burttschell Construction. Despite the company's claims of integrity and in-house craftsmanship, the homeowner believes these are empty marketing slogans with little substance behind them.

“They sell a beautiful vision, but what you really get is stress, silence, and substandard work,” the client concluded. “If you’re looking to build your dream home, stay far away from Burttschell Construction
