White Category Exemptions
Industries categorized under the White Category (low pollution potential) with investments up to ₹5 crore are exempt from the consent management system, provided they meet specific non-polluting criteria.
Consent Management System Updates
• Industries must apply for Air and Water Consent at least 4 months prior to commencing operations.
• Failure to respond within 30 days of a clarification request will result in automatic rejection of the application.
Air Quality Monitoring Insights
Recent air quality data indicates that cities such as Muzaffarnagar and Loni are experiencing moderate to high Air Quality Index (AQI) levels, underscoring the need for stricter environmental compliance and monitoring.
Conclusion
These updates reflect UPPCB’s dual focus on strengthening human resources and enhancing environmental governance across Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment drives provide valuable opportunities for aspiring candidates, while the compliance measures aim to ensure sustainable industrial growth.
