The most significant change this year is the introduction of mandatory Aadhaar-based authentication for proprietors and authorized signatories, ensuring genuine seller onboarding and quicker approvals.

What’s New in GeM Registration for 2026

e) Stock will automatically be cancelled from the moment a seller does not update their stock levels within 48 hours of placing an order.

For many small manufacturers and service providers, these changes provide a more efficient means of visibility along with improved cash flow, without increasing compliance obligations imposed upon them.


How Sellers Can Register on GeM in 2026

New users could register by following this simple digital procedure:

1. Visit Gem.gov.in

2. Click Sign Up and choose Seller/Service Provider

3. Choose Business Type

4. Verify Aadhaar via OTP

5. Enter PAN, mobile number, and link Udyam or company details

6. Insert Bank, address, and product/service details

Although the service is free, there may be certain fees during transactions depending on the total price ordered.
