The quest begins with a chance encounter: upon entering the cemetery, players meet Lachlann, a figure consumed by desperation. He pleads for help finding keys to the Memorial Gate, claiming they will “save his family” from eternal torment . This plea sends players into two of the cemetery’s most foreboding sub-areas: the Mausoleum of the Praetor and the Tomb of the Consort, which stand opposite each other in the open graveyard .​

The first trial awaits in the mausoleum, where Praetor Draven lurks. Undead ambushes pepper the corridors, but the true challenge comes when Draven rises—a spectral figure that vanishes into a grave before confronting players. Defeating him yields half the Memorial Key . The second piece lies with his consort, Asinia, in her tomb; her guards are relentless, but the reward is worth the fight: a second key fragment and clues to Lachlann’s true nature.​

Returning to Lachlann with both keys triggers the quest’s twist. As he approaches a large gravestone, he transforms into Lachlann of Endless Lament, the cemetery’s main boss. His icy trails slow players, demanding kiting strategies to avoid crippling delays . Vanquishing him drops Count Lachlann’s Ring, which completes the quest—and unlocks a vendor back at the Clear Fell Encampment when given to Una .​
