Taiwan’s First Manufacturer to Pass AHCCDDI’s Factory Inspection for Ballistic Fiber Fabric

Posted April 2, 2026 by DHS2026

DHS Innotech has recently become the first Taiwanese manufacturer to successfully pass the factory inspection for ballistic fiber fabric/fiber laminated fabric, conducted by the AHCCDDI of the Ministry of National Defense and MND’s 205th Factory.

This marks a significant milestone for Taiwan’s self-manufacturing of key ballistic materials for national defense. Among the 12 stringent factory audit evaluation criteria, DHS Innotech achieved a fully qualified rating, demonstrating its outstanding professional qualifications and technical capabilities, and earning high recognition.

One of the core technologies of DHS Innotech’s products is the use of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber, a high-strength, high-toughness material capable of effectively resisting high-speed bullet impacts and significantly enhancing the protective performance of ballistic equipment. This gives DHS Innotech a notable competitive advantage in Taiwan’s fully self-manufactured military products sector and ensures that its products meet the internationally recognized NIJ ballistic protection standards.

As one of the few companies worldwide capable of manufacturing ballistic fiber fabrics that meets international standards, DHS Innotech has been recognized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, earning a spot in the "2024 Taiwan Early-Stage Investment Trends Annual Report" as a promising emerging enterprise. Moreover, its technical innovation and independent R&D capabilities have secured its inclusion in the BodyArmorNews.com list of global ballistic fabric manufacturers, alongside international brands such as Honeywell and DSM. This recognition has also attracted significant attention from Indian military equipment enterprises and U.S. space investment funds.

Furthermore, DHS Innotech is a Taiwan enterprise that independently develops UHMWPE fiber yarn and fully self-manufactured fiber laminated fabrics. Its fiber laminated fabric-based ballistic core has passed the NIJ 0101.06 IIIA ballistic test conducted by the internationally recognized Element U.S. Space & Defense testing agency. Additionally, DHS Innotech is the first company in Taiwan to self-manufacture ICW plates that pass the NIJ-STD-0101.06 Level III (ICW) ballistic standards, showcasing the superior technical capabilities of its "All Made in Taiwan" production.

Beyond its exceptional achievements in military-grade ballistic fabric manufacturing, DHS Innotech has also excelled in customer data security protection. It is the first UHMWPE fiber laminated fabric company in Taiwan to obtain TAF-certified ISO 27001:2022 certification, with its information security investments surpassing 88% of Taiwan’s publicly listed companies as of 2024. This further underscores its strong development momentum and market potential.

DHS Innotech’s outstanding performance highlights Taiwan’s growing strength in the ballistic materials industry and provides a safer and more reliable technical foundation for future military equipment and various protective applications. By passing this critical factory audit, DHS Innotech has laid a solid foundation for the Ministry of National Defense’s future domestic R&D and manufacturing of key ballistic protection materials, completing an important piece of the puzzle in Taiwan’s indigenous defense protection industry supply chain. With continuous innovation and expansion, DHS Innotech is expected to play an increasingly important role in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific defense industry, making a significant contribution to Taiwan’s national security and future protective technology development.
