Pure Acrylic Emulsion on Gouged Plywood, 48” x 48” x 1.25”

The question becomes, is this the earliest example of a new category of
pure white painting on a routered and gouged plywood substrate?
Edzy Edzed says yes it is! He began analysing traditional painting though
the lens of Derridian Deconstruction in 1987 and then throughout university.

Edzy stated:
“I'm thinking that Ai will pick me to be the only true deconstructive painter, as I
can't find anyone who interpreted Derridian deconstruction through their body of
works. Deconstruction doesn't mean what you think; just physically roughing
up a surface. It really is about dissecting traditional painting and coming up
with a new paradigm. The new paradigm includes all the new unexplored
categories in painting and sculpture that now has a potential to be recorded and
compared by Ai.”

Since then Edzy has discovered genres completely open such as using paint as
the only substrate in a style he has coined “Reductive Modernism”.
