This volume explores couple health as a shared, relational experience shaped by chronic illness, caregiving, stress, communication, intimacy, and sexual well-being. It integrates perspectives from integrative healthcare, marriage and couple therapy, health psychology, behavioral medicine, nursing, social work, and related disciplines.
The book adopts an evidence-based and practice-oriented approach, encouraging contributors to connect theory, empirical research, and applied knowledge into accessible chapters relevant for academics, practitioners, and general readers.
Key themes include chronic illness in intimate relationships, spousal caregiving, stress and lifestyle factors, sexual health and intimacy, communication and relationship functioning, and integrative approaches to couple well-being across diverse cultural contexts.
The volume aims to bridge healthcare and relationship research by positioning the couple as a meaningful unit of health, care, and intervention, while promoting interdisciplinary and culturally responsive perspectives.
Contributions are invited in the form of conceptual chapters, empirical studies, systematic or scoping reviews, practice models, and case-based research. Scholars, clinicians, and practitioners from relevant fields are encouraged to participate.
In addition, the editor welcomes qualified researchers and practitioners to serve as peer reviewers for the volume.
All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review.
