Niva Kurumba Maldives has announced its festive season programme for 2026–2027, bringing three weeks of celebrations, entertainment, family activities, marine experiences and wellness moments to the iconic Maldivian resort from 21 December to 7 January.

The programme unfolds in two chapters, beginning with a tropical Christmas from 21 to 25 December, followed by a New Year at the Circus theme from 26 December to 6 January.

Christmas celebrations begin with a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony accompanied by festive carols. Guests can enjoy a Christmas Eve Gala Dinner and Christmas Day Lunch at Vihamaana, featuring lavish buffets, live cooking stations and music. Sunset experiences at Kandu Bar add to the festive atmosphere, with themed sundowners including Sunset Carnival, Blush Sunset Hour and Flames of the Island.

Following Christmas, the resort introduces a programme centred around entertainment and island discovery. Guests can take part in a Beach Fiesta, Maldivian Mas Race fishing competition, Island Illusion magic show, fire performances and a fashion show by the pool. The celebrations culminate in the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, themed “A Night at the Circus”, featuring fire performers and aerial artists before fireworks welcome 2027 at midnight.

The festive programme also invites guests to discover the Maldives beneath the surface. Guided snorkelling excursions offer opportunities to encounter stingrays, turtles and gentle nurse sharks, while experienced guides lead guests through coral gardens and reefs. A Christmas Day excursion to a secluded sandbank provides another opportunity to enjoy the surrounding waters and island scenery.

Younger guests can enjoy a dedicated programme of festive activities, including gingerbread decorating, snowflake making, sand art, seashell crafts and clown crown making. Special events include a beach sand snowman competition, pool splash party, Christmas wreath making, a search for Santa and a Circus Cruise, alongside a Grand Show Stopper Fashion Show.

For guests seeking relaxation, LIME Wellbeing offers restorative experiences designed around reconnection and relaxation. Highlights include the Romantic Escape for two, the family-focused Together Treasure and Serenity Under the Stars, an alfresco couple’s massage using warm coconut oil and cowrie shells.

Located in the North Malé Atoll, Niva Kurumba is a ten-minute speedboat ride from the airport and has welcomed guests since 1972. The resort combines lush gardens, white-sand beaches and a vibrant house reef with diving, watersports, dining and wellbeing experiences across the island.
