Niva Labriz Seychelles begins a new chapter as the flagship international property of Niva, introducing a lifestyle-led approach centred on experiential travel, personalised service, and environmental stewardship.

Seychelles, January 2026 – Niva Labriz Seychelles has entered a new chapter following the end of its Hilton management agreement, repositioning the Silhouette Island resort as the international flagship of the Niva lifestyle brand from Versa Hospitality.

The transition marks a move from a global corporate management model to a more independent, lifestyle-led approach, with a stronger focus on experiential travel, personalised service, environmental stewardship and the unique character of Seychelles.

According to Marc O Schumacher, General Manager of Niva Labriz Seychelles, the resort's new direction is built around creating a more agile and personalised guest experience while maintaining continuity for both guests and team members.

“Our priority was ensuring a seamless flow for our guests while introducing the Niva philosophy,” said Schumacher. “We focused on a smooth handover that maintained high service standards while beginning to instil Niva’s signature sense of ‘quiet freedom’.”

The Niva name combines “nourish” and “viva”, reflecting the brand philosophy that freedom nourishes life. Labriz, meanwhile, retains its connection to the property's heritage and its setting on Silhouette Island.

Niva Labriz Seychelles is the first international flagship of the Niva collection, joining sister properties in the Maldives including Niva Dhigali, Niva Velassaru, Niva Kuramathi and Niva Kurumba. The brand is designed around effortless elegance, intuitive warmth and experiences that encourage guests to discover destinations at their own pace.

The resort's secluded island setting and low-density villa layout remain central to its identity. Niva Labriz plans to build further on these attributes through personalised dining, wellness programmes and curated excursions, giving guests opportunities to experience Silhouette's natural environment in greater privacy and tranquillity.

“We want guests to feel they have the time and space to move, to enjoy the silence, and to find their own rhythm,” Schumacher said. “Whether it is the quiet solitude of a private terrace or a shared sundowner at the bar, that sense of lived freedom is what defines us.”

The resort is also positioning itself within the lifestyle-led experiential travel segment rather than competing directly in the traditional ultra-luxury category. The focus is on refined yet unpretentious hospitality, authenticity and meaningful experiences rather than formal opulence.

As part of its international positioning, Niva Labriz Seychelles has joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World, providing access to a global network of discerning travellers while allowing the resort to maintain its individual identity and connection to Silhouette Island.

Nature and conservation are also central to the resort's future direction. Located on an island largely protected as a national park, Niva Labriz Seychelles is committed to environmental compliance, stewardship and guest engagement. Its approach includes responsible waste management and energy efficiency, biodiversity protection, collaboration with park authorities and conservation organisations, and educational experiences that allow guests to better understand the island's ecosystem.

Local talent development is another priority. Niva Labriz Seychelles and Versa Hospitality are investing in structured training, leadership development and mentorship opportunities designed to support Seychellois team members in progressing towards senior hospitality positions. Partnerships with local institutions and hospitality schools are also intended to create career pathways for young professionals.

The Niva brand is designed for international growth, with Versa Hospitality exploring opportunities to introduce the concept to new markets. Niva Aria Seychelles is also expected to join the collection in late 2026 or early 2027.

For returning guests who knew the property under the Hilton brand, Schumacher emphasised that the essential character of Silhouette Island remains unchanged.

“The essence of what you love about Silhouette Island has not changed; it has simply been set free,” he said. “We are proud of our history, but even more excited about this new chapter.”

With its natural setting, emphasis on space and privacy, and renewed focus on personalised and experiential hospitality, Niva Labriz Seychelles is establishing a new identity while retaining the qualities that have long defined the Silhouette Island resort
