VANCEUS Reveals the Meaning Behind Its Emblems, the Claw and the Meander

The House explains the two symbols that stand for strength and eternity.

RICHMOND, Va. - VANCEUS signs its work with two marks in gold. The first is the claw, an emblem of strength. The second is the meander, the Greek key that has adorned temples and vessels for nearly three thousand years. Together they form a private visual language.

The claw suggests power at rest, the kind that needs no demonstration. The meander is a single unbroken line that turns back on itself without end. The motif has long been associated with infinity and the eternal flow of life, and the brand adopts it in that spirit.

Neither comes with an explanation. Each is meant to be recognized by those who already understand it. "VANCEUS does not announce itself," reads the House's own description, and its emblems keep the same discretion. Gold, in this setting, is worn as a mark and never as an ornament.

"A symbol should need no caption," said Ethan Vanderbilt of VANCEUS. "The claw and the meander are there for the person wearing them. Everyone else simply senses that something is different." The Golden Collection is presented at vanceus.store.
