Family Lawyer Lindsay H. Childs led a Doris Jonas Freed Inn of Court panel on death, incompetency and incapacity in divorce cases.

Feinman & Childs Family Lawyer Lindsay H. Childs served as Team Leader for a panel presentation at the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court meeting on October 6, 2026, in King of Prussia. The presentation, “Death, Incompetency and Incapacity,” examined issues that can arise when one of these issues occurs during a divorce case.

The panel, which included a current equitable distribution Hearing Officer, sparked a lively discussion with fellow members about both practical and ethical issues that can arise when a client or opposing party passes away during the divorce process, or shows signs of potential illness or injury that could impair their ability to testify or otherwise participate in court proceedings.

Lindsay H. Childs is a Partner at Feinman & Childs Family Law, where she focuses her practice exclusively on family law, including divorce, custody, equitable distribution, support and other complex family law matters. She is also a certified Parenting Coordinator in Pennsylvania and is active in legal education and advocacy.

Ms. Childs has been a member of the Doris Jonas Freed Inn American in of Court since 2011 and has participated in presentations for the organization on multiple occasions. In addition, she has served in various capacities within organization, including acting as President from 2020–2021. Ms. Childs also served as Chair of the Montgomery Bar Association’s Family Law Section in 2022, and was recently elected as the Vice President of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP).
