Atlanta, GA — Quincy Rae Birth & Family Services is proud to announce the launch of its Private Labor and Newborn Care Class, a personalized childbirth education experience designed to prepare expecting parents and individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and advocacy tools needed for labor, delivery, and early newborn care.
Unlike traditional group-based education, this class is fully private and tailored to each client’s unique needs. Families are able to schedule sessions at a date and time that fits their personal availability, making childbirth education more accessible, flexible, and individualized.
This program is built on the belief that no family should enter labor and delivery uninformed about their rights or unprepared for the realities of the birth experience.
“Too many families are not given the education or support they need before entering labor and delivery,” said Francisca Shaw, Founder of Quincy Rae Birth & Family Services. “My commitment is to help all women avoid the traumatic experience I went through back in February 2015 by ensuring they are educated, prepared, and empowered to advocate for themselves.”
Francisca Shaw is a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Indigenous Childbirth Educator, Advocate, and experienced nanny, with a degree in Medical Humanities and current graduate studies in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program, focusing on deepening her advocacy for maternal health and equitable care.
The Private Labor and Newborn Care Class covers:
Stages of labor and what to expect physically and emotionally
Pain management options (medical and holistic)
Patient rights, informed consent, and birth advocacy
Common hospital interventions and when they are used
Partner and support person roles during labor
Immediate newborn care and bonding
Early postpartum recovery and newborn basics
Maternity Leave Planning
The class is designed for all birthing individuals, including those planning hospital births, birth center births, or home births. Each session is customized based on the client’s birth preferences, concerns, and learning needs.

“My goal is for every parent to meet their baby with clarity, confidence, and peace, not fear,” Shaw added. “Education changes birth outcomes, and every family deserves that right.”
