SEATTLE, WA, October 29, 2026. GamesPark, an online game community that has connected players and game makers since 1999, has introduced revamped game-making classes for after-school programs and families across the United States at gamespark.us.
Children start with a working game, then change a character, a goal or a rule, play it and improve it. The beginner courses build 2D games and need no coding experience. Each eight-week core course follows four steps: make it move, make it work, make it yours and make it better.
Live online core classes serve ages 8 to 14, with up to six learners per instructor. First Game Lab, for ages 8 to 11, runs eight weekly 75-minute classes covering movement, collisions, variables, scoring and playtesting, and ends with a finished game and a showcase for parents. Game Builder Studio, for ages 11 to 14, adds checkpoints, timers, puzzle logic and accessibility. A 45-minute taster class is available for beginners.
Families who prefer to work at home can use GamesPark Studio in the browser. It includes eight guided lessons, six editable game starters, 121 ready-made assets and adult guides. Finished games export as playable files that families keep.
For childcare and school-age programs, the Teaching Center plan adds groups, assignments, learner projects and permission to charge for classes, with the programs' own staff guiding the activity. People who work with children can ask about a trade discount.
"Parents have played on GamesPark.com since 1999. Now kids can make their own games, with a live instructor or at home with a parent," said a spokesperson for GamesPark.
The classes build on the no-code game design courses GamesPark announced in 2022. Free sample games are available to play at gamespark.us.
