GAMESPARK® Brings Live Hosted Game Hours to Senior and Care Communities With GamesPark.live

A new video library and hosted packages let residents play chess, checkers and backgammon with a friendly live host, on the TV the community already owns

SEATTLE, October 30, 2026. GAMESPARK®, an online game community that has connected players since 1999, today introduced GamesPark.live, a free video resource and hosted game program built for retirement communities, assisted living, nursing homes and long-term care residences.

GamesPark.live gives activity coordinators, residents, families and operators short, practical films they can watch, download and pass along. Its centerpiece is a simple idea: a weekly game hour where a verified GAMESPARK® host runs a table of chess, checkers or backgammon on the activity-room TV, while community staff stay in the room with residents.

"It is the games residents already know, with a person who hosts the table. Not a video game. Not a class. A game night," said a GamesPark spokesperson.

Built for activity teams

Activity calendars are hard to fill week after week. GamesPark.live is designed to fill one slot without inventing a new program. The coordinator introduces the hour, and the host holds the table and keeps the pace kind. Coordinators do not need to know chess openings, and nobody needs to install anything. A TV, computer or tablet with a current browser and ordinary Wi-Fi is enough, with captions on for anyone who needs them.

Comfortable for residents

Pieces are large, the rules are the ones residents grew up with, and slow play is welcome. Residents can play a neighbor down the hall, a kind GAMESPARK® host, or the Gamespark AI Player for a quiet match after dinner. Residents may also simply sit and watch. Participation is always by choice.

Bringing families to the table

With the Family Table add-on, residents can play scheduled games with children and grandchildren joining from their own screens, turning game night into a family visit.

How communities get started

Communities begin with a complimentary Guest Session, a hosted hour that lets residents try the table before anyone buys a package. If the hour holds, they move to the House Host Package, a repeating weekly hosted hour for one community. Operators with several wings or buildings can ask about the Multi-site Campus Host package. For nursing and long-term care homes, GAMESPARK® also offers a paid, staff-supported pilot, with a suggested starting format of four hosted sessions of 30 to 45 minutes over 30 days. Pricing and host availability are agreed before booking.

Free play remains open to everyone at Gamespark.com, and the GAMESPARK® games app at GamesPark.chat offers classic games with instant play in the browser.

Activity directors, life-enrichment leads and operators can explore the coordinator kit, resident guide and host packages at https://gamespark.live, or email [email protected] to book a Guest Session.
