Gemelli Films is proud to announce its return to Tennessee’s Oldest Town with a new feature film Restoring Harmony set against the unmistakable charm and history of Jonesborough.

While the story itself unfolds within a larger narrative, Jonesborough will be far more than a backdrop. This time, the town will not simply frame the story…it will shape it.

In contrast to Gemelli Films’ previous production, Love in Storytown, which brought elements of Jonesborough to the screen while recreating portions elsewhere, this new film will be rooted entirely in the town itself. There will be no substitutions. No stand-ins. The story will live and breathe within the very streets that give Jonesborough its character.

Main Street will take center stage.

Its historic facades - each layered with its own quiet history - will add depth and texture to every frame. Landmarks such as The Jackson Theatre and The Eureka Inn will come alive as integral settings within the story, while The Chester Inn and the International Storytelling Center will be featured as living spaces that ground the film in authenticity.
And at the heart of it all are the people.

The residents of Jonesborough, natural storytellers in a town known for its rich storytelling tradition, will help bring the world of the film to life. Their presence, spirit, and sense of community will infuse the story with something that cannot be replicated: truth.

“I personally prefer to film in the town where the story is set,” said Director Candice Cain. “We didn’t do that with Love in Storytown, except for the establishing shots during the festival. I want to make sure that we not only film in Jonesborough, but that our project helps boost the local economy.”

This project is, in every sense, a love letter.

A love letter to a place where history is not erased, but honored. Where the past and present exist side by side. Where belief runs deep, that nothing is impossible, and that stories, when told with heart, leave a lasting mark.

Production is slated to begin in late September and continue through early October, with additional details to be announced in the coming weeks. At this time, Gemelli Films is offering product placement and brand integration to local businesses and individuals so that they can be organically intertwined into the Restoring Harmony story, and everything that surrounds it.
