Background of the Scheme
The Mahtari Vandan Yojana was launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh to empower women financially by providing ₹1,000 per month directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
This initiative aims to support women’s economic independence and ensure inclusive welfare across the state.
Launched: 1 March 2024
Annual Assistance: ₹12,000 per beneficiary
Eligible Beneficiaries: Married, widowed, divorced, or abandoned women who are permanent residents of Chhattisgarh, aged 21 years or above, and not part of income-tax-paying families.
Progress of Previous Installments
The 17th installment was released in July 2025, transferring approximately ₹647.66 crore to the bank accounts of 69.23 lakh women across the state.
The 20th installment, as per The Times of India (October 2025), benefited around 64.9 lakh women with a total transfer amount of ₹607 crore.
Current Status: 21st Installment
Chhattisgarh Government released the amount of Rs. 1,000/- into the bank account of around 90 lakh beneficiaires on 05-11-2025.
