With Singapore’s construction, marine, and process industries witnessing rapid growth, the demand for trained and certified safety professionals has never been higher. Confined spaces—such as tanks, manholes, tunnels, and silos—pose unique hazards including toxic gases, oxygen deficiency, and restricted entry and exit, which can be life-threatening without proper management. The WSQ Confined Space Management Course is a comprehensive program under the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) framework. It is targeted at supervisors, safety officers, engineers, and any personnel involved in planning or managing confined space operations.

The curriculum covers key topics including:

Legal and regulatory requirements for confined space entry

Hazard identification and risk assessment

Implementation of confined space entry permits

Rescue planning and emergency response

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and gas detection instruments

Learners will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, ensuring they are prepared to lead and enforce safety protocols at the workplace. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA), recognized nationwide and in alignment with MOM standards.
