His remarks came during the grand finale of the “Commentary Star” competition, organized by Bahrain Sports Channel under the Creators Lab initiative and the Media Talent Award of Ministry of Information Affairs, in collaboration with Tumooh Sports Management and Gulf University. The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information.
Professor Al-Firas emphasized that Gulf University’s involvement reflects its academic and community-driven mission to nurture emerging media talent and bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice – ensuring students are fully prepared to enter the competitive media industry with confidence and competence.
From 50 Contestants to Three Winners
The competition drew 50 participants who advanced through multiple elimination rounds before five finalists reached the concluding stage.
The final results crowned: Sayed Mohammed Al-Mousawi – First Place, Mujtaba Hilal – Second Place, Mohammed Hassan – Third Place.
The accompanying development program played a pivotal role in elevating participants’ skills, offering specialized workshops and training sessions in sports commentary, refereeing, tactical analysis, and the integration of artificial intelligence tools to enhance professional performance.
