Hartek Group, a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company in India, is strengthening its contribution to grid modernisation through integrated power transmission and substation solutions.

Mohali, Punjab – 12, Octuber 2026 – Hartek Group, a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company in India, is strengthening its contribution to grid modernisation through integrated power transmission and substation solutions. With capabilities across high-voltage infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and power systems engineering, the company is supporting the development of transmission networks required to meet India’s evolving electricity needs.

As electricity demand grows and renewable energy capacity expands, modernising the power grid has become increasingly important. Transmission infrastructure must connect new generation sources, support electricity movement across regions, and accommodate changing power flows. Hartek Group is leveraging its engineering and project execution expertise to address these requirements through integrated infrastructure solutions.

Strengthening Power Transmission Infrastructure

Hartek Group’s Power Systems business specialises in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and turnkey power projects. The company reports more than 400 EHV and HV substation projects, with operational capabilities extending up to 765 kV across India.

Its portfolio includes substation engineering, procurement, construction, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning. These capabilities support utilities, independent power producers, industrial customers, and renewable energy developers seeking transmission infrastructure for new projects and network expansion.

By combining engineering expertise with project execution capabilities, Hartek Group contributes to the development of infrastructure that connects power generation assets with transmission networks and downstream distribution systems.

Enabling Renewable Energy Integration

The growth of utility-scale solar and other renewable energy projects is increasing demand for transmission infrastructure capable of evacuating electricity from generation sites to the national grid. Pooling substations, high-voltage switchyards, and transmission systems play an important role in this process.

Hartek Group has experience across both renewable energy generation and high-voltage infrastructure. Its Renewables business has connected more than 10 GW of solar capacity to the national grid, while its Power Systems business delivers substation and transmission solutions.

In July 2025, Hartek secured a ₹138 crore contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for a 400 kV air-insulated substation associated with the integration of the Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Ballari Renewable Energy Zone in Karnataka. The project scope included engineering, procurement, construction, testing, erection, and commissioning.

Such projects demonstrate the importance of coordinating renewable generation with the transmission infrastructure required to transfer electricity to the wider grid.

Integrating Substation Engineering and Grid Solutions

Grid modernisation requires more than adding transmission capacity. It also involves appropriate substation design, electrical protection, control systems, monitoring technologies, and coordinated project execution.

Hartek Group’s wider portfolio includes power distribution products such as medium-voltage switchboards, control and relay panels, and SCADA and automation systems. These offerings complement its power systems capabilities by addressing electrical protection, control, and monitoring requirements across different applications.

The integration of these capabilities supports projects where transmission infrastructure and electrical systems must work together to meet operational and technical requirements. It also positions Hartek to serve a broad range of customers across utility, industrial, and renewable energy sectors.

Supporting India’s Evolving Electricity Network

India’s power infrastructure must respond to rising electricity consumption, industrial expansion, renewable energy development, and the growing need for interregional transmission. Investments in substations and transmission networks are essential to connecting new generation capacity and supporting the movement of electricity across the country.

In February 2026, Hartek announced cumulative substation orders worth ₹735 crore, covering projects from 66 kV to 765 kV across nine states. The orders reflected demand across utility, independent power producer, and industrial segments.

This project pipeline highlights the breadth of infrastructure requirements across India’s power sector and the role of specialised EPC companies in delivering complex transmission and substation projects.

Commenting on the importance of grid infrastructure, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and CEO, Hartek Group, said, “India’s energy transition depends on developing transmission infrastructure alongside renewable generation. Integrated substation and power transmission solutions are essential to connecting new energy capacity with the grid and meeting the changing needs of utilities, industries, and renewable energy developers.”

Building Future-Ready Power Infrastructure

Hartek Group continues to strengthen its presence across Power Systems, Renewables, and Power Distribution Products. By bringing together high-voltage substation execution, renewable energy EPC, and electrical distribution capabilities, the company is positioned to contribute to projects supporting the modernisation of India’s power infrastructure.

As transmission networks expand and renewable energy becomes an increasingly important part of the electricity mix, Hartek Group aims to build on its engineering experience and project execution track record to support grid connectivity, infrastructure development, and the evolving requirements of India’s energy sector.
