Brand new 13-year-old indie singer-songwriter Henry Taner released his latest single, “unresponsive…,” on October 16, 2026. The new track marks a new era in Taner’s growing independent music career, following the release of his debut EP, Writing’s on the Wall, earlier this year. The song is a quirky concept about feeling unheard after sending some unanswered texts, and quickly gained traction across Instagram with relatable visualizers and lyric videos.
The story behind “unresponsive…” began in mid-August 2026. Taner had texted his producer and collaborator friend Flipoutt about their track “Friday the 13th” and didn’t get a response for a few minutes. “In that time, I came up with a catchy melody,” Taner said. “Soon I was back in this studio and [Flipoutt] actually produced the track!”
Taner began releasing music in June 2026 with his debut single, “Supernaturally,” followed by his debut EP, Writing’s on the Wall, in July. As an independent singer-songwriter and producer, Taner has taken an active role in writing, recording, and producing his music while continuing to develop his sound and reach new listeners. After starting to collaborate with Flipoutt on “Friday the 13th” in August, Taner’s moved away from production and focused more on writing and singing. He hopes to release an album next year.
Beyond his latest release, Taner is continuing to pursue opportunities in the music industry, including his participation in iHeart’s The Next Music Star singing competition. As he develops his independent music career, Taner hopes to reach new audiences and continue sharing original music with listeners across the world.
