House of Arts Opens Its Platform to Independent Artists and Art Curators Across India

Mohali-based gallery introduces reviewed artist profiles, a low-fee model with payouts 15 days after delivery, and curator-run art events, to put original paintings within reach of everyday buyers.

MOHALI, Punjab, 09/10/2026 -- House of Arts (hoagallery.in), a gallery for original art based in Mohali, Punjab, today announced that it has opened its platform to independent artists and art curators. Living local artists can now apply to list and sell original work on the site, and approved curators can host art events and programmes, with the aim of making original paintings affordable to middle- and lower-income households while paying artists fairly and promptly.

Original art is usually sold through channels that favour established names. That leaves many working artists without a route to buyers, and many households with no option beyond printed posters. House of Arts says the new platform is designed to narrow that gap.

WHAT IS NEW FOR ARTISTS

Artists can register and request an artist portfolio. The House of Arts team reviews every artist profile and every artwork before it is published, and says it aims to respond within 24 to 48 hours. Approved artists get a profile page with links to their social channels and a setting that lets them choose whether the profile is public and whether buyers may contact them by WhatsApp or email.

Each artwork is listed at a single, all-inclusive price that covers taxes and shipping, so buyers see one figure. Shipping is free to the buyer across India. The artist packs and ships the work from their own studio, films the packing, shares the shipment details with House of Arts before dispatch and uses a courier whose insurance covers the full value of the piece.

Buyers pay the artist directly by UPI, either in full or as a 50 percent advance with the balance after delivery, and cash on delivery is also available. House of Arts verifies each transaction and confirms every order within 24 hours.

The platform charges artists no fee per artwork listed. A single 10 percent convenience fee is deducted from the artist's payout once a sale has been delivered, and the payout is released 15 days after delivery, which is the period in which a buyer can raise a complaint. Artists keep the rest of the price after government tax and their own shipping cost. Artists join through a monthly membership plan, starting from Rs. 199 a month, with a 7-day free trial. The plan sets how many works can be live at once.

The platform lists original work only. Copies, reproductions, AI-generated images and prints are not accepted, with photography accepted as the photographer's own prints. Artists may not publish personal contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses, websites or payment details in a profile or listing, so that every sale stays inside the platform's verified process.

WHAT IS NEW FOR CURATORS

Curators can also register, and are approved by the House of Arts team before they go live. Approved curators can create art events such as exhibitions, workshops, talks, open studios and artist markets, either public or private by invitation link, and can group them into programmes with a named host, guests and sponsors.

House of Arts charges no event fee. The host takes bookings and payment directly, and people who show interest in an event are passed on to the host with their details. Only art-related events are approved.

WHAT BUYERS CAN DO

Buyers can purchase original paintings, drawings and photography, rent a work by the month, or commission a piece made to their wall. Rental begins with the first month's rent and a refundable deposit, with the option to swap after three months, or to buy with half of the rent paid credited against the price. Commissions start from Rs. 5,000, in sizes from 12 by 18 to 36 by 48 inches or a custom size.

QUOTE

"Original art has been priced for people who already collect, and sold by artists who are already known," said Aditya Kumar, founder of House of Arts and a practising artist based in Mohali. "We built this so that a household on an ordinary budget can own a real painting, and so that the local artist who made it is paid fairly and on time. Neither side should need a famous name."

AVAILABILITY

Artist and curator applications are open now at hoagallery.in. Original artworks, art rental and commissions are available to buyers across India, with free shipping on artworks.
