HOPEWELL JUNCTION, NY: Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group has announced the addition of Dr. Meaghan Ranalli, DVM, to its veterinary team, with Dr. Ranalli seeing patients at both the Beacon and Hopewell Junction locations. Her arrival strengthens the practice's ability to serve pet owners throughout the Hudson Valley with a broader range of clinical expertise.
Dr. Ranalli earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from Marist University in 2022 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2026. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include exotic animals such as birds, reptiles, and small mammals, along with soft tissue and dental surgery and animal behavior, giving clients access to a broad range of specialized care under one roof.
Dr. Ranalli's path to veterinary medicine began with a lifelong interest in nature, animals, and helping others. As a Girl Scout, her Silver and Gold Award projects supported local animal rescue organizations, including the Animal Rescue Foundation and the SPCA, and she also worked with organizations such as Semper-Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley and Astor Services. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a veterinary assistant at two local practices, completed an internship at the Trevor Zoo in Millbrook, and took part in pre-veterinary student programs at Busch Gardens Zoo in Florida and Kids Saving the Rainforest Rescue in Costa Rica.
During veterinary school, Dr. Ranalli worked as a student technician at the Janet L. Swanson Wildlife Hospital, gaining hands-on experience with local wildlife species. She completed externships at a high-volume spay and neuter clinic in Michigan, a zoo and tropical education center in Belize, a large wildlife center in Texas, and a veterinary hospital in Pennsylvania, and she also volunteered at a monthly community clinic serving low-income residents in Ithaca, reflecting her commitment to gaining broad experience across species and settings.
Dr. Ranalli was born in North Carolina and grew up in Fishkill, New York. She has since returned to the Hudson Valley with her husband, Justin, to begin her career as an Associate Veterinarian with Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, bike riding, hiking, swimming, bowling, reading, playing video games, and spending time with friends.
