Marie Lemelle’s 'F. Baldiwala' Facade Crashes Under Scrutiny: Transparency Watchdogs Sound Alarm

The post, still traceable on her verified LinkedIn profile, appears to show an independent third party referencing Lemelle as a “client” of Pitbull PR Agency—one of Lemelle’s entities.

Beverly Hills, CA – Transparency has become a baseline expectation in business and public life, making recent revelations about Dr. Marie Y. Lemelle—President of the California Black Chamber of Commerce – Beverly Hills—all the more unsettling. The catalyst: a now-infamous LinkedIn post authored under the alias “F. Baldiwala,” which Lemelle used to quote and promote her own company as if it were a client, misleading audiences and raising serious questions about her professional integrity. The incident has sparked growing concern within Los Angeles’s business and entertainment communities.

The post, still traceable on her verified LinkedIn profile, appears to show an independent third party referencing Lemelle as a “client” of Pitbull PR Agency—one of Lemelle’s entities. Importantly, official corporate records confirm Lemelle is the sole officer of the agency. What appeared to be an interview where Lemelle was quoted throughout was, in fact, self-authored and self-promotional misrepresentation—raising alarms among industry peers and integrity advocates alike.

When the Curtain Falls on the Facade

Once internet sleuths and eagle-eyed LinkedIn users began connecting the dots, the “F. Baldiwala” persona unraveled—revealing a troubling attempt at astroturfing trust and credibility.

This is not an isolated incident:

Yelp Review Suppression: Yelp confirmed in August 2025 that it removed reviews from Lemelle’s companies—Platinum Star Media Group, Pitbull PR Agency, and others—after a paying client’s negative feedback mysteriously vanished, allegedly following Lemelle’s direct outreach.

Permit Irregularities: Her businesses list a Glendale residence as their address, yet local permits prohibit commercial client meetings there. Still, her agencies are publicly represented as full-service talent and PR operations—placing her in possible violation of city regulations.

Multiple Court Disputes: Lemelle has appeared in at least 18 civil court matters in Los Angeles County. In one case, she was denied a restraining order against a former client when the judge ruled she failed to meet the burden of proof.

Fiction as Fact? Presenting herself as a “client” of her own firm—under a false name—has cast serious doubt on how many other claims in her professional bio have been self-fabricated or exaggerated.

Why It Matters Now

Misrepresentation at any level is dangerous. But when it comes from a public-facing figure entrusted with leadership roles in DEI, advocacy, and business development, the consequences are far-reaching:

It undermines public trust.

It deceives potential clients and collaborators.

It erodes the credibility of the very institutions she represents.

Transparency watchdogs are now circling, with calls for formal investigations, public disclosures, and independent audits. “The use of a fictitious persona to praise one’s own business isn’t just misleading—it’s manipulative,” said one member of the Transparency Matters Coalition.

Dr. Lemelle may have hoped the persona of “F. Baldiwala” would slip by unnoticed. But in today’s digital age, accountability has eyes everywhere.
