BSCOBBER shares real-world SUP inflation test results and recommends 12V DC power for extended operation.

BSCOBBER, the team behind the OmniPump-1 portable outdoor pump, has tested whether its compact multi-purpose pump can inflate a stand-up paddleboard (SUP). In two tests conducted at an ambient temperature of approximately 20°C, the OmniPump-1 inflated a 10.6-foot SUP to approximately 10 PSI in around 20 minutes.

The tests examined both inflation performance and the pump's behavior during extended operation. During the first 15 minutes, the board gradually took shape, with pressure reaching 5.8 PSI. After inflation continued to approximately 20 minutes, both tests reached around 10 PSI.

According to BSCOBBER, the results demonstrate that the OmniPump-1 can support SUP inflation, although the process takes considerably longer than inflating smaller items such as bicycle tires and sports balls.

12V DC Power Recommended for Extended Inflation

SUPs require a much larger volume of air than many everyday inflatables, making battery capacity an important consideration during extended use.

While the OmniPump-1 can operate on its built-in battery for shorter inflation tasks, BSCOBBER recommends using its 12V DC input connected to a vehicle power supply for longer SUP inflation sessions.This option may be particularly useful for users transporting their boards by car to beaches, lakes, and other outdoor destinations.

BSCOBBER also emphasizes that, despite its ability to inflate a SUP, the OmniPump-1 is not intended to replace every dedicated SUP pump. Its relatively long inflation time means it may not provide the most convenient experience for users who primarily inflate full-size paddleboards.

Real-World Testing Driven by Backer Feedback

The SUP test was initiated after a backer asked whether the OmniPump-1 could handle a full-size paddleboard. Rather than relying solely on specifications, the team conducted repeated tests to evaluate its practical capabilities.
