Coercive control is a strategic pattern of behavior designed to exploit, control, create dependency, and dominate another person. Because it often leaves no physical evidence, it can be difficult for courts to recognize. Financial restriction, isolation, monitoring, and manipulation may look unrelated on paper, yet together they can form a system that limits a person’s freedom and independence.

Jennifer’s expert witness work focuses on identifying and explaining these behavioral patterns. Her evaluations are behavioral rather than psychiatric. She is not a psychotherapist, and she does not diagnose individuals. Instead, she reviews documented evidence and connects specific behaviors to recognized patterns of coercion, giving judges and juries a clearer basis for understanding what occurred.

Her casework covers a wide range of issues, including child custody, undue influence, domestic abuse, domestic violence, financial abuse, human trafficking, the troubled teen industry, and deprivation of liberties. She also brings expertise in cults, cultic abuse, and religious and spiritual abuse, approaching these cases through behavioral pattern analysis.

Jennifer holds an MSc in Psychology of Coercive Control from Salford University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a BA from Kenyon College. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law, with a specialty in Victimology, at Alliant International University in San Diego, California.
