Chandigarh, October 15, 2026: Kare Partners Heart & Critical Care Hospital is running an awareness series to address common fears about intensive care. A key focus is the belief that being placed on a ventilator means a patient will not recover.
Families often feel anxious when a loved one is moved to the ICU. The hospital’s critical care team says a ventilator is a form of life support that gives the body time to heal during serious illness. It is not a sign that treatment has failed.
“Understanding what the ICU does helps families make calmer, better-informed decisions,” said Dr. Rahul Katyal, Senior Consultant, Chest & Critical Care. “Timely escalation to critical care, including knowing when conditions such as pneumonia need ICU support, can improve outcomes.”
The hospital’s critical care unit provides round-the-clock monitoring, ventilator support and specialist care for patients with cardiac, respiratory and other serious conditions. The awareness series will be shared through the hospital’s website, Google Business Profile and social media.
