Bunkerise, a household readiness company, is sharing a free 72-hour checklist and household plan workbook to help American households follow FEMA Ready.gov guidance.

VANCOUVER, B.C., October 29, 2026. Earthquakes, wildfire smoke, hurricanes and winter outages are part of life across much of the United States. FEMA's Ready.gov asks households to keep supplies for several days and to make a family emergency plan that covers how members will receive alerts, where they will shelter, how they will evacuate and how they will contact each other.

Bunkerise, a household readiness company, is sharing its free checklist and planning workbook with American households who want to follow that guidance without sorting through scattered advice. The company pays particular attention to renters and apartment dwellers, who often depend on elevators, building water pumps and shared power, and who have little storage space.

Bunkerise starts with a plan rather than a shopping list. Its free 72-Hour Checklist sets out quantities per person, the water math and a last 60 seconds grab list. The 72-Hour Household Plan workbook turns that into meeting points, an out of area contact, utility shutoffs, medication, children, pets and wallet cards for everyone in the home. Both are written to be read in an evening and acted on in a weekend.

Bunkerise guides are educational and are designed as a bridge to official guidance, not a replacement for it. In an emergency, instructions from local authorities come first.

"Across the country the hazard changes from region to region, but the plan looks much the same. Where you meet, who you call, how you shut off the gas, what water you have. If a household can answer those four questions, it is most of the way there," said Kathy Bunkerise, spokesperson for Bunkerise.
