In an open-pit quarry in central Ukraine, surveillance cameras covering the pit edge, crushing zone, stockyard, weighbridge and entrance had been dropping offline for months. Long Ethernet runs across roads used by heavy vehicles suffered repeated damage. Shared Wi-Fi links could not maintain continuous upstream video under dust, wind and metal interference.
The site operator engaged a local industrial networking team experienced with COMFAST(https://wifioem.com/) equipment. After a full survey of terrain, line-of-sight paths and power conditions, the team installed four CF-E312A V2 and six CF-E319A V2 5.8 GHz wireless bridges. Local PoE switches powered cameras and near-end radios. A compact core gateway aggregated traffic at the control room.
Mounting height, alignment and enclosure protection were prioritised to handle fine dust and strong cross-winds. Once the links were commissioned, video from critical areas remained continuous through day and night shifts. Random disconnects that previously required camera or injector replacement ceased.
The new architecture also simplifies future expansion. Additional cameras can be added by extending existing hops rather than opening new trenches across active haul roads. Maintenance has shifted from emergency repairs to scheduled inspection of the outdoor radios and enclosures.
The project demonstrates that in large outdoor industrial sites the transmission path, rather than the cameras themselves, is often the limiting factor for reliable surveillance.
