A proud Long Island native returning home to serve the community she grew up in, Dr. Bernhardt brings an impressive academic background, international experience, and a warm, relationship-centered approach to every patient she sees.
Dr. Bernhardt earned her bachelor's degree in animal science from Cornell University before pursuing her veterinary education abroad at the Royal Veterinary College in London, United Kingdom, where she lived for five years and earned her BVetMed degree (the equivalent of a DVM) in 2025. During her time in the United Kingdom, she embraced every opportunity to travel and explore different parts of the world, broadening her perspective and deepening her appreciation for diverse approaches to veterinary medicine.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Bernhardt completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center of Westbury, where she gained hands-on specialty experience across multiple disciplines. This rigorous post-graduate training has given her a well-rounded foundation in patient care and prepared her to meet the full spectrum of her patients' medical needs with skill and confidence.
At Levittown Animal Hospital, Dr. Bernhardt is especially passionate about building meaningful, lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She believes that trust and connection are at the heart of great veterinary medicine, and she is committed to making every client feel heard, informed, and supported at every stage of their pet's care.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Bernhardt brings the same creativity and dedication to her personal pursuits. An avid photographer, she has captured countless memorable events over the years, including weddings. She also plays the violin and enjoys practicing whenever time allows. At home, she shares her life with two cats named Jupiter and Mars.
